Maximilian Böther (born 1998 in Hildesheim) is a last-year Master’s student at Hasso Plattner Institute, Potsdam, Germany. His research interests include efficient large-scale data processing, modern hardware, machine learning, and especially the intersection of them. He has published several papers at renowned venues (e.g., ICLR, DaMoN, GECCO), received a Best Paper Award at GECCO’21, and a Best Poster Award at ISMB/ECCB’21. He has experience working as a system administrator, software engineer, interned as Entrepreneur in Residence at a SaaS startup, and spent four years as member of the federal board of the Junge Liberale (“Young Liberals”) in Germany.
